The beautiful mountains surrounding Golden provides 8,000 acres of regional open space and over 24 miles of trails for intensive mountain biking, hiking, or casual walking. The Clear Creek Whitewater Rafting Park is one of Golden’s most popular attractions and was built strictly for recreational kayaking and canoeing on Clear Creek River. For mountain bikers & hikers, the nearby trails at Matthews / Winters, Dakota Ridge, Apex Trail, Chimney Gulch, North / South Table Mountain and White Ranch Open Space provide endless satisfaction.

 

Downtown Golden is a walkable paradise offering historic buildings, breweries, distilleries, shops, restaurants and more. You can tour the original Coors Brewery or check out fun & hip independent craft breweries down the road like New Terrain, Cannonball Creek, Native, Mountain Toad, and more. Nearly a dozen museums and cultural venues offer residents and visitors a taste of the Old West, reminiscent of the days of cowboy boots and swinging door saloons. Golden is also a vibrant cultural, academic, and research hub featuring the highly ranked Colorado School of Mines, the National Renewable Energy Laboratory, the Foothills Art Center, and the Colorado Railroad Museum.
